Les chaussettes Olivia se tricotent de la cheville à la pointe. On commence par le bord côtes après lequel on fait quelques augmentations avant de commencer le jacquard, assorti au pull du même nom. On tricote toute la cheville, on tricote ensuite le talon en rangs-raccourcis, puis le pied. La pointe est formée avec un jeu de diminutions, et le bout de pied est fermé par un grafting.

Olivia socks are worked cuff-down. You start with the ribbed cuff and then you work some increases before knitting stranded colorwork matching the pullover with the same name. You first work leg, then the heel using short rows, and continue over the foot. Toe is shaped thanks to some decreases and closed with a grafting.

Techniques

Montage :

• Alternate cable cast-on

Augmentations :

• 2 mailles en 1 : tricoter la maille une fois par le brin avant, une fois par le brin arrière.

Diminutions : 

• Inclinée à droite : tricoter 2 mailles ensemble à l’endroit. 

• Inclinée à gauche : Glisse Glisse Tricote (GGT) glisser une maille comme pour la tricoter à l’endroit, glisser une seconde maille comme pour la tricoter à l’endroit et tricoter ces 2 mailles ensemble par le brin arrière.

Rangs-raccourcis : 

• À l’allemande

Assemblage : 

• Grafting sur jersey endroit

Techniques

Cast-on: 

• Alternate cable cast-on

Increases:

• 2 stitches into 1: knit the stitch from the front loop and then from the back loop. 

Decreases: 

• Leaning on the right: knit two stitches together. 

• Leaning on the left (SSK – slip slip knit): slip two stitches knitwise 1 at a time, pass your left needle into both front legs of these two stitches from left to right and knit them together. 

Short-rows: 

• German short-rows

Joining:

• Grafting on stockinette stitch

1 x 1 twisted ribbing

• Repeat (knit one stitch through the back loop - purl one stitch).
